The existing extension was a single story, brick/block construction abutting a two storey 'clasp' block. The works comprised of the removal of the existing single storey roof, the introduction of a steel frame to form the first floor, metal deck with insitu concrete slab to form the first floor, and an insulated metal deck to form the new roof. The external walls were constructed from a metsec system with a rain screen cladding system completing the façade. The new single story extension forming the new reception area, was formed from a steel frame with metsec infills. The reception had a board and render system to complete the external finish. Internally, 3 classrooms were refurbished and new WC, break out spaces and offices were formed. A new lift was also installed.
