Utilising the existing foundations, a new 11 classroom, film and media and drama hall was constructed using a SIPS timber frame system. The existing drama hall was retained and converted into a sixth form study space. At the entrance to the school a new reception building was formed improving the security of the school. The double height foyer also acts as a teaching or assembly space that has state of the art projection equipment. The building is heated using heat exchangers and heater batteries fed from a dedicated plant room within the building. The social study space has glazing to its entire length allowing natural light to flood the area allowing students to relax and study while using the dedicated café facilities.
